What We Believe

Below are the principles by which the North England Conference Youth Department abides. These principles form the basis of programmes we plan, decisions we make and people we engage in service. We ask you to prayerfully consider each of the following principles:

A respect for the Bible:
As the only rule of faith and test of all teachings and practice.

An appreciation for the writings of Ellen White:
Otherwise known as the “Spirit of Prophecy” to be a guiding and informing source of instruction, comfort and warning for today.

A desire to save the lost:
As we approach Christ’s imminent return, we seek to invite others to share in the love of Jesus our Savour as we proclaim the Three Angels’ Message to this lost world.

An enthusiasm for service:
Realising and utilising our spiritual gifts in care for the needy, likewise to our spiritual and secular communities, and stewardship of our environment.

A quest for Biblical holiness:
Through celebrating and experiencing the spiritual disciplines of prayer, daily personal devotion and a commitment to follow God’s word totally.

A meaningful and vibrant worship experience:
One which is characterised by principle, reverence and decorum.

An exemplary and abundant lifestyle:
In recreation, entertainment, dress and healthful living.

A cultivation of Christ-like relationships:
Preserving purity and encouraging accountability and respect.

A regard for the Seventh-day Adventist Church as God’s remnant church:
Knowing its special God-given role, supporting and upholding its principles, organisation and leadership.

Lift each other up in prayer!
